 MI Sports Chat

Here at MI Sports Chat we cover the University of Michigan Athletics program.   We do provide insight on Michigan State University,  Detroit Lions, TIgers, Red Wings and Pistons!  We also provide a section for our High School teams that allow you to follow along with their weekly schedules and updates.

It had to come eventually and Saturday the
Wisconsin Badgers defeated Michigan!

Well midnight struck Saturday afternoon at the Crisler Center as the Wisconsin Badgers shot the lights out and handed the Wolverines their first loss of the season!  The #2 ranked Wolverines had no answer for the Badgers 45% shooting from behind the arc!  In the end the final in the upset was 91-88 in what was a hard battled game as is the norm when these two meet!   It has become an entertaining Rivalry for the two teams when they get together!
Michigan was scrambling all day long trying to catch up to the quick ball movement!   The Second half was one of Michigan's  worst showings all season and maybe vs Penn St. was tellng enough that this result was on the horizon!
Nothing gets any easier for the Wolverines they need to regroup and be ready for a road trip to Washington on Wednesday!
Feel free to follow the link ot get every thing you need on M Hoops!

Wings welcome the Canucks
to LCA tonight at 7pm

Which team will show up tonight for the Red Wings when the Vancouver Canucks come to town for a 7pm puck drop?  In their last 10 games the Wings are 6-4 in those contests and sit 1 point behind the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Atlantic!  This would be a good victory if they can get it tonight at home before they head to Montreal Saturday at 7pm!

We are still waiting for a complete 3 period game for the Wings as they have their lapses and either let teams back into games or have to fight back in the end to victory!

There have been improvements this season no question just looking for them to take the  next step!

Feel free to follow the link below and see if they can keep near the top of the Atlantic division!

LA Clippers come to Little Caesars
beat Pistons 98-92!

For the second time in about 2-weeks the Clippers had the Pistons number defeating them in their house Saturday night 98-92!  Although the Pistons were without  Cade Cunnningham, Jalen Duren and Tobias Harris to injuries and Isaiah Stewart to Illness!  So to still be in the game late tells you the depth of this squad!

The Pistons still stand atop the Central  with a good lead over Cleveland!

The PIstons enjoy the next 5 of 6 games at the comfy confines of the Little Caesars Arena.  They have a nice break here as their next game is Thursday Jan. 15 vs the Phoenix Suns in town!  Hopefully some of the players can return by then.

Feel free to follow the link below to keep up on all things Pistons this season!

Detroit takes the season sweep over the Bears as bright spot on dreary season!

Well the Lion's showed up on Sunday afternoon in Chicago and played with what their motto is about "Grit"!  A chilly afternoon on Lake Michigan at Soldier Field saw the Detroit defense rise to the occasion and Detroit used a rushing attack rejuvenated  to ramble.

Jared Goff did just enough to lead the team to a victory and finished the season at 9-8 overall!  A bright light to lead them into the off season but definitely not the ending to a season of high hopes back in August!

It should be an interesting off season for the front office and coaches to sit down and evaluate each position and be able to hit the ground running by June!

Feel free to follow the link below to keep up on all the rumblings of the off season for the Lion's!
