Michigan Softball makes a run to BIG Tourney Championship!
This past weekend the Michigan Women's Softball team got hot and made a run to the BIG Softball Tournament Championship! In the process they defeated Oregon and host Purdue leading up to their Championship game vs UCLA! The women didn't disappoint as they held the Bruins scoreless and claimed their 12th BIG Title and Back to Back championships winning 2-0! The Victory by the Wolverines gave them an Automatic Berth to the NCAA College Tournament.

Texas takes 2 of 3 from Tigers over weekend
The Detroit Tigers came down to earth a little bit over the weekend as the Texas Rangers came into town and won 2 of 3 vs Detroit at Comerica!
The Tigers offense was slowed a bit by the Rangers pitching the last 2 games of the series. Detroit was outscored 16-4 over the last 2 ballgames and only lost their 3rd series of the season so far (Dodgers, Astros, Rangers) and they look forward to the Red Sox coming into town Monday night for a 3 game set!
After 41 games the Tigers sit at 26-15 and 2 games on top of Cleveland in the Central Division.

Detroit Lions will play in the Hall of Fame game vs the LA Chargers to kick off preseason!
As the Lions continue their off season preparation with mini camps and other workouts they did find out they will be playing in Canton, Ohio at the NFL Hall of Fame game on July 31.
Although no Lion will be entering the NFL Hall of Fame that weekend the LA Chargers TE Antonio Gates will be inducted. Gates grew up in Detroit Michigan and played high school sports at Detroit Central and attended Kent St to play basketball after stops at Michigan St and Eastern Michigan.
He wasn't drafted in the NFL and became an undrafted Free Agent by the then San Diego Chargers. He played 16 years all with the Chargers organization! He concluded his career with 116 TDs and 21 Multi-TD games both most in NFL History!
