Last fall was the kind of season we don't forget around here: our Eddies compiled a 17-2-1 record, the best in school history, claimed an outright Wolverine Conference championship, and raised a Division 2 District trophy before running into eventual Finals runner-up Hudsonville Unity Christian in the Regional final, a 4-1 loss to close the book on a dream year. Sean Jesse, in his 15th year leading the program, has built something that lasts — when he arrived Edwardsburg had at most five players in club soccer during the offseason, and now he has 15 involved year-round. Eight of 11 starters are back this fall, including Brayden Fischer, who totaled 22 goals and four assists last season, and junior keeper Law Gates, returning for his third season after a 0.65 goals-against average. The Eddies sit at 5-1-0 so far, and with a 30-man roster and talents like Aleck Rodriguez and Maverick Gates, this group is chasing that history-making run all over again.
