Week 3 gave us a Friday-night nailbiter, and our Montrose squad found a way past New Lothrop 35-33 in the closest league win they've managed in two years. That runs the Rams' Mid-Michigan Athletic Conference winning streak to 11, and at 2-1 they've got real momentum building. Here's the setup that makes it matter: Montrose and Birch Run are the only two teams sitting 2-0 in the MMAC after two weeks of league play. Both are undefeated in the conference, both are staring down the same road, and both know exactly where it ends — they meet in the Week 8 league finale. So the math is simple and the drama is set. Win out, and that Week 8 showdown becomes a title decider with everything riding on it. A two-point squeaker in Week 3 tells you these Rams don't rattle, and that's the kind of team you want peaking in November.
