Port Huron Blanks 74 Years of History: Perfect 9-0 for First Time Since 1952!

Week 9 is in the books, and it gave us 11 more reasons why every game counts as more than 300 teams took the field for the final time in 2026. But the story that stops you cold is in Port Huron, where the Big Reds knocked off rival Northern 13-10 for the first time since 2023 — and in doing so finished the regular season 9-0 for the first time since 1952, per Michigan-football.com. That is 74 years. Port Huron held the top spot on the Division 3 playoff-points list, locking up home games for the first three rounds. The perfect seasons kept coming across the state. Marine City capped 9-0 for the first time since 2021, Goodrich ran its regular-season winning streak to 26, and Romeo finished its first perfect regular season since 1977. Gibraltar Carlson went 9-0 and locked up a fourth-straight outright Downriver League crown. And don't sleep on Harbor Springs, breaking a five-game skid against East Jordan to clinch its first league title since 1987. 11-Player Districts begin Friday.
