Our Birmingham Seaholm boys did it again at the Midland Tennis Center on Saturday, capping the two-day tournament with 35 points to repeat as MHSAA Lower Division 2 champion — Midland Dow took second with 25 and Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern finished third with 24. Seaholm carried a 24-21 edge over FHN into the flight semifinals and never looked back. Senior Kalil Wahab and freshman Hunter Helfman led the charge, downing Byron Center's Brayden and Brody Slot 7-6 (7-1), 6-4, and seniors Deven Badhwar and Ryan McArdle rolled past Colten King and Jonah Wiechertjes 6-0, 6-3. And how about South Lyon East senior Mason Crosby? After finishing No. 1 singles runner-up last fall, he dispatched Seaholm's Carter Griffith 6-1, 6-2 and four wins on the weekend pushed him to 30-0 to close the season. Perfect. There is no better way for a senior to walk off the court.
