This one stings, folks. Our Tigers took a lead into the late innings of the nightcap at Progressive Field and still walked off with nothing, as Travis Bazzana singled home Brayan Rocchio in the 10th to hand Cleveland a 4-3 win and complete a day-night doubleheader sweep. Rocchio reached on a fielder's choice, then stole second and third to set the table, and Bazzana lined one up the middle against Kenley Jansen to end it. Bazzana was the whole story. He tied it with a two-run homer off Jacob Waguespack in the eighth before delivering the walk-off knock, and it marked the first time Cleveland won both games of a doubleheader in walk-off fashion since Aug. 19, 1984, against Milwaukee. Andrew Sears deserved better, carrying a shutout into the sixth and giving up just one run over 5 2/3 innings in his third big-league appearance. Detroit built a 3-1 edge on RBIs from Hao-Yu Lee, Kevin McGonigle, and Eduardo Valencia, and it wasn't enough. The Tigers sit 64-77, ten back. Game 3 is September 5.
