What a night for a kid making his first career NHL start. In Edmonton, 24-year-old Michal Postava — undrafted, out of Czechia, appearing in just his second career game — turned aside 25 shots in regulation and three more in the shootout, and one of those stops came against none other than Connor McDavid. Our Wings fell behind three different times and refused to break, with Dylan Larkin shoveling in his second of the season to tie it with 1:17 left in the third. Viktor Arvidsson and Emmitt Finnie found the net in regulation too, and Lucas Raymond — a pair of assists on the night — buried the only goal of the shootout to send us home winners. That caps a 2-1-1 road trip, a solid haul for a club that kept clawing back every time Edmonton pushed. Postava first stepped in last Thursday to replace John Gibson in a 5-2 win over Vancouver, and now he owns a win over the McDavid Oilers in his first start.
