What a night, Tigers faithful, as we clawed our way to an 8-6 win in 10 innings over the Chicago Cubs on Monday, and the whole clubhouse is buzzing with that Game 7 fire A.J. Hinch has been preaching since May! Hinch put it perfectly — "We've been playing Game 7 since May" — and you can feel it in every at-bat as our battling Tigers dig out of the hole! We went into Monday 4½ games back in the American League wild-card race with six teams to overcome, and 6½ behind the first-place White Sox in the Central, but FanGraphs still gives us a 16% shot at the division and we're not clearing out any lockers yet! Feisty ace Tarik Skubal, our All-Star and soon-to-be free agent, has been electric with a 2.97 ERA in seven games since getting off the canvas from a six-week elbow injury! And with the trade deadline looming Aug. 3, Gleyber Torres is back off the injured list and Javier Baez begins a rehab outing at Class-A Lakeland on Tuesday!
