Jeremy Fears Jr. Lands on Bob Cousy Watch List as Spartans Gear Up!

The preseason honors are stacking up for the Spartans, and the man at the center of it is Jeremy Fears Jr. — named to the Bob Cousy Award Watch List on October 26, 2026, just days after being tabbed an Associated Press Preseason All-American on October 21. Two nods in a week for the floor general we build around. The exhibition slate didn't go the way MSU wanted it, with Michigan State falling at Marquette 86-79 on October 25 in the final tune-up and dropping an earlier one to UConn 78-70 back on October 20. The lone bright spot was a 89-59 rout of Incarnate Word on October 2. Not perfect, but exhibitions are for finding answers, and we've got Fears steering the ship. The real stuff starts soon: Quinnipiac comes to town November 2 at 7 PM, Toledo follows on the 5th, and then the heavyweight Duke and a road trip to Tennessee loom later in the month. The schedule doesn't ease us in.
