Wolverines Bring Hockey Back to Lambeau Field in 2027 Frozen Tundra Faceoff!

Circle it now, folks: Saturday, Feb. 20, 2027, our Wolverines lace them up outdoors at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, home of the NFL's Packers and all 81,041 of those frosty seats. This is the Frozen Tundra Faceoff, and it's the second half of Michigan's two-game Big Ten road series against the Badgers, a rivalry that stretches all the way back to 1923. Lambeau hasn't hosted hockey since 2006, when the inaugural Frozen Tundra Classic played out on that hallowed turf — so this brings college hockey back to the frozen tundra for the first time in more than 20 years. And nobody does this like us: it'll be the 11th outdoor game in program history, more than any other program in college hockey. We've been here before, too — Michigan and Wisconsin last met outdoors on Feb. 6, 2010. We hold a 93-72-13 edge in the all-time series, and the teams split last year with each winning on the road. Presale tickets open Wednesday, Sept. 9, with the general public on-sale Friday, Sept. 11.
